What are longitude lines? Lines that run parallel to the Prime Meridian and measures West and East.
What is the longitude of the Prime Meridian? 0 degrees
What is the latitude of the Equator? 0 degrees
What is the elevation of the ocean? 0 degrees
True or False: If the altitude of Polaris is 50 degrees, then the altitude of the observer is the same. TRUE: Polaris is the North Star. The altitude of Polaris is equal to the latitude of the observer.
True or False: Two places along the same longitude line will have the same SOLAR TIME. TRUE
True or False: People on the same longitude lines have the same time zone. FALSE: They have the same solar time but not always the same time zone. Time zones are set by politicians and are not always straight lines.
