Rx Abbreviation for Perscription.
PCP Abbreviation for Primary Care Provider
NKDA Abbreviation for No known drug allergies.
LPN LPN: Licensed practical nurse
NICU NICU: Neonatal intensive care unit, a unit that cares for premature infants.
EKG Electrocardiogram, it is a way to monitor the heart and test for any problems in the heart.
CPR Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a life-saving technique to pump oxygen and blood to an unresponsvive person.
OR Operating Room, a room where surgeries are performed.
Alzheimer's disease Alzhemier's disease is a chronic disorder that affects ones memeory, discovered by Alios Alzheimers in 1906.
Lou Gehrig disease Lou Gehrig's disease affects the brain and spinal cord. It was named after a famous baseball player, Lou Gehrig, who suffered from it.
Parkinson's disease Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder that affects ones movement and can include speech. First discovered by physician James Parkinson, 1817.
Tourettes syndrome Tourettes is a neurological disorder that involves repetitive movement and sounds that can't be easily controlled.
Lyme Disease Lyme disease is an infectious bacterial disease mostly found in ticks.
Abrasion To cut or scrape.
Lipoma A subcutaneous tumor. (begnign)
erythrocyte Red blood cells, are one of the components of blood.
Dermatoplasty Plastic surgery of the skin.
Keloid A growth of extra scar tissue.
