| elements | SUBSTANCES that are made up of only ONE type of ATOM. |
| molecule | 2 or MORE atoms held together by CHEMICAL bands |
| compound | SUBSTANCE made of 2 or MORE ELEMENTS that are CHEMICALLY COMBINED in a set ratio |
| mixture | 2 or MORE SUBSTANCES that are together in the same place but their atoms are NOT chemically bonded |
| Distillation | SEPARATING liquids by BOILING them |
| mass | AMOUNT of MATTER in an object |
| volume | AMOUNT of SPACE that matter occupies |
| weight | MEASURE of the FORCE OF GRAVITY on an object |
| convert | we can CONVERT pounds to kilograms when the force of gravity at a location is known |
| density | MEASURE of the MASS of a material in a given VOLUME |
