QuestionAnswer
What is science? The process of learning about the natural world through observation and experimentation.
Who can be a scientist? Anyone!
What do scientists do? The form hypothesis', they experiment, they test, they ask questions, etc.
What is an observation vs an inference? An observation is information we gain from our 5 senses, and an inference is a statement we make based on an interpretation of facts or observations.
What is the scientific method? A way of problem solving by making a hypothesis and testing it.
What are the steps of the scientific method in order? Problem, hypothesis, procedure (experiment), data and results, and conclusion.
What is a hypothesis? An educated guess or statement about what is going to happen.
What is a variable? A factor that can exist in different amounts.
What is the difference between the Independent variable, Dependent variable, and Controlled variable? The Controlled is kept the same in an experiment, the Dependent is measured in the experiment, and the Independent is changed in an experiment.
When do we use a safety shower, eye wash, fire extinguisher, fire blanket? When we have a chemicals all over our body, in our eyes, a fire in the room, and a fire on yourself.
