Nonvascular Plant Plants that lack vascular tissue for transporting materials
Rhizoid Thin, rootlike structures that anchor the moss and absorb water and nutrients
Vascular Plant Plants with true vascular tissue
Phloem The vascular tissue through which food moves
Xylem The vascular tissue that water and minerals travel through
Pollen Seed plants produce these tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells
Seed A structure that contains a young plant inside a protective covering
Gymnosperm A seed plant that produces naked seeds
Angiosperm They are flowering plants that produce flowers and produce seeds that are enclosed in fruits
How plants are classified Plants are classified by the characteristics of Nonvascular, Seedless vascular, and Seed plants
The difference between Phloem and Xylem The difference is that one is through which food moves, and the other is where the roots absorb water and minerals
