Nonvascular Plant | Plants that lack vascular tissue for transporting materials |
Rhizoid | Thin, rootlike structures that anchor the moss and absorb water and nutrients |
Vascular Plant | Plants with true vascular tissue |
Phloem | The vascular tissue through which food moves |
Xylem | The vascular tissue that water and minerals travel through |
Pollen | Seed plants produce these tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells |
Seed | A structure that contains a young plant inside a protective covering |
Gymnosperm | A seed plant that produces naked seeds |
Angiosperm | They are flowering plants that produce flowers and produce seeds that are enclosed in fruits |
How plants are classified | Plants are classified by the characteristics of Nonvascular, Seedless vascular, and Seed plants |
The difference between Phloem and Xylem | The difference is that one is through which food moves, and the other is where the roots absorb water and minerals |
