Charts, Graphs, and Maps (EPISD 8th grade)

Data table Where the observations of an experiment are recorded
Bar graph A way of displaying data in separate categories
Line graph A graph that shows what is happening between the data points
Pie chart A graph used to show percentages of a whole
Pictogram Like a bar graph that uses pictures of objects
Extrapolation Used to predict values that go beyond the data points
Scale Shows what each line on a graph or map represents
Topographic map A map that shows the elevation changes of land formations
DRY Dependent and Responding variable goes on the Y axis
MIX Manipulated and Independent variable goes on the X axis
