How is the small intestine adapted to carry out its function Contains millions of villi which increase its surface area. Has a very good blood supply
Which process allows digested soluble nutrients to be absorbed? Give a definition of this word Diffusion = Movement of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
What is an enzyme? Explain what they do A biological catalyst. Speed up reactions eg. Breaking down large molecules into smaller ones
Where do we find amylase in the body? What does it do Saliva and small intestine. Breaks down starch into glucose (sugars)
