| Salt water | Salty water or salt that has been added to water. |
| Fresh water | Water that is not salty, and is suitable for drinking. |
| Polar ice cap | Dome-shaped sheets of ice found near the North and South Poles. |
| Glacier | A slowly moving mass made of ice. |
| Groundwater | Water held underground. |
| Atmosphere | The envelope of gases surrounding the earth or another planet. |
| Reservoir | A large natural or artificial lake used as a source of water supply. |
| Lakes | A large body of water surrounded by land. |
| Rivers | A large natural stream of water flowing in a channel to a lake, or another such stream. |
