Scientific Theory An explanations or eventd based on knowledge gained from many observations and investigations.
Scientific Taw The describes a pattern or an event in nature that is always true.
Critical Thinking Comparing what you already know with the information you are given in order to decide whether you agree with it.
Description A spoken or written summary of observations.
Explenation An interpretation of observations.
International System of Units (SI) Adopted an internationally acceptep system for measurement.
Accuracy A description of how close a measurement is to an accepted or true vaule
Precision A description of how similar or close measurementts are to each other.
Significant Digits The number of digits in a measurement that are known with a certain degree of reliability.
Ecosystem All the living things and nonliving things in a given area.
Biotic Factors The living things in an ecosystem.
Abiotic Factors The nonliving things in an ecosystem, such as sunlight and water.
Climate Describes average weather conditions in an area over time.
Atmosphere The layer of gases that surrounds Earth.
Evaporation The process during which liquid water changes into a gas called water vapor.
Condensation The process during which vapor changes into liquid water.
Precipitation Water that falls from clouds to Erath's surface.
Nitrogen Fixation The process that changes atmospheric nitrogen into nitrogen compounds that are usable by living things.
Photosynthesis A series of chemical reactions that convert light energy, water, and carbon dioxide into the food energy molecule glucode and give off oxygen.
Chemosynthesis The process during which producers use chemical energy in matter rather than light energy and make food.
Food Chain A model that shows how energy flows in an eco system through feeding relationsips.
Food Web To show how food chains in a community are interconnected.
Energy Pyramid To show the amount of energy available in each step of a food chain.
