QuestionAnswer
Convergent boundary When plates smash into each other
Transform boundaries When plates move sideways like the San Andres Fault
Divergent boundaries When plates move apart from each other
Subduction When one plate is pushed under another and the crust sinks down into the mantle
Seafloor spreading An underwater divergent boundary. May cause ridges and mountains.
Continental drift The theory that all land masses were one supercontinent, called Pangaea, and have slowly moved apart.

Desertifications When land is no longer fertile and won’t support plants and trees
Pesticides Bug poisons that may unintentionally harm species other than bugs
Natural events Events that may endanger species, but are not caused by humans
Subsidence When land sinks because water is lost from particles between the rocks and sand
Land reclamation When land is restored to a more natural or usable state
Predation When one species hunts another for food
Inexhaustible resources Resources like the sun and wind that can never be used up.
Physical weathering An example of this is ice freezing in a crack which causes the rock to break or crumble
Renewable resources Resources that can be used again and again like trees and water
Chemical weathering An example of this is when CO2 reacts with water in caves and cave formations are created
Non-renewable resources Fossil fuels are an example of this type of resource.
