Spontaneous Generation | The mistaken idea that living things arise from nonliving sources. |
Homeostasis | The condition in which an organism's internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment. |
Characteristics | A feature that helps to identify something. |
Microsope | An instrument that makes small objects look larger. |
Cell Theory | A widely accepted explanation of the relationship between cells and living things. |
Distinguish | To manage to recognize something you can barely see to point out a different. |
Growth | Size or stage of development. |
Hand lens | A magnifying glass designed to be held in the hand. |
Magnification | To increase the apparent size or an object. |
Reproduce | To reproduce its kind, as an organism; bear offspring. |
Energy | The ability to work or to cause change. |
Waste | Anything left over or not of use. |
