Homeostasis the condition in which an organism’s internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment
Characteristics: a feature that helps to identify something
Microscope: an instrument that makes small objects look larger
Cell Theory: a widely accepted explanation of the relationship between cells and living things
Distinguish: 1) to manage to recognize something you can barely see 2) to point out a difference
Growth: size or stage of development
Hand lens a magnifying glass designed to be held in the hand
Magnification: to increase the apparent size of an object
Reproduce: to reproduce its kind, as in an organism; bear offspring
Energy: the ability to do work or cause change
Waste: anything left over or not of use
