Thyroidectomy- The surgical procedure that involves removal of the thyroid gland
Bronchoscopy- using an instrument to look into the bronchi (lungs)
Hysterectomy- surgical removal of the uterus
Auscultation- The process of listening to sounds from the heart, lungs, or other organs
Bronchitis- inflammation of the mucous membrane in the bronchial tubes
Hemo- blood
Hemi- half
Abduction- Movement of a body part, such as an arm or leg, away from the center of the body
Antibody- A protein made by the immune system to protect the body from harmful substances, called antigens.
Colostomy- Surgery that brings one end of the large intestine out through an opening in the abdomen for the elimination of stool.
