| hypothesis | a possible explanation for a set of observation or possible answer to a scientific question |
| controlled experiment | experiment in which only one variable is changed |
| independent variable | factor in a controlled experiment that is deliberately changed also called manipulated variable |
| dependent variable | variable that is observed and that changes in response to the independent variable also called the responding variable |

| DNA | A self replicated material that is present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes (It is the carrier of genetic info). |
| Stimulus | A thing or event that evokes a specific functional reaction in an organ or tissue |
| Sexual Reproduction | The production of new living organisms by combining genetic information from two individuals of different types of sexes, In most higher organisms, one sex (male) produces small stationary gamete produced by the other (females). |
| asexual reproduction | Is a mode of reproduction in which a new offspring is produced by a single parent. |
| homeostasis | The tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes. |
