| Hypothesis | A proposed explanation or prediction based on limited evidence, which can be tested through further investigation. |
| Variable | Any factor or condition that can be controlled, changed, or measured in an experiment. |
| Control group | The group in an experiment that remains unchanged and is used as a basis of comparison to measure the effects of the other experimental groups. |
| Independent variable | The variable that is intentionally manipulated or changed by the researcher in an experiment. |
| Dependent variable | The variable that is measured or observed to determine the effect of the independent variable in an experiment. |
| Data | Information or facts collected and analyzed during an experiment, usually presented in the form of numbers, tables, graphs, or charts. |
| Conclusion | A judgment or decision reached based on the analysis of the data collected during an experiment, supporting or rejecting the hypothesis. |
| Bias | A systematic error or deviation from the truth, often caused by personal opinions, preferences, or prejudices of the researcher. |
| Replication | The process of repeating an experiment or study to determine if similar results are obtained, thereby adding reliability and validity to the findings. |
| Validity | The degree to which an experiment or study accurately measures or reflects what it intends to measure or reflect, ensuring the results are meaningful and trustworthy. |
