Cellular and Ecological Levels of Organization

| Element | The most basic units of molecules |
| Molecule | A collection of elements that are bonded together |
| Macromolecule | Large molecules that perform a function in living organisms |
| Organelle | Specialized structures that perform important functions within cells |
| Cell | The smallest unit of life |
| Tissue | A collection of cells that works together to perform a specified function |
| Organ | A specialized structure made of tissue that performs a specific function. |
| Organ System | A specialized system within a living organism made up of organs that perform a unified function |
| Organism | A single living individual |
| Population | All individuals of a single species that live in an area |
| Community | All of the different species within a specific area |
| Ecosystem | All living organisms and nonliving matter within a specific area |
| Biome | Groups of ecosystems that have the same climate and similar dominant communities |
| Biosphere | Parts of the Earth where life exists |
| Element | Carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), sodium (Na) |
