Turbidity Due to presence of suspended materials
Color Due to dissolved organic material
Taste & Odor Due to organic compounds, inorganic salts or dissolved gases
Temperature Desirable to be cool & does not fluctuate
Turbidity Measure of optical properties of a water sample that cause light to be scattered and absorbed
Total Suspended Solids >1 micron, removed by filtration
Total Dissolved Solids Inorganic and small amounts of organic matter, removed by distillation/absorption
pH Measure of acidity/alkalinity of water
