Atropine

class anti-cholonergic (parasympathetic blocker)
MOA Decreases legal tone therefore increasing SA automaticity and AV conduction
Uses Symptomatic bradycardia
Contraindications Obstructive GI disease, liver disease, asthma, 2nd degree type 2 HB, 3rd degree HB
Adverse effects possible V-fib, v-tach, and worsen areas of infarction
WARNING Small doses and slow push may initially decrease HR
Adult dose 1 mg, every 3-5 minutes, MAX 3 mg
Atropine for 18 kg child 0.5 mg IV/IO
Atropine for 18-40 kg child 1 mg
