The Forms of Energy

A set of simple notes to help understand the different transformations of energy

What is Kinetic Energy? Kinetic Energy is the ability to change in an objects motion. When an object is moving it has kinetic energy.
What is Potential Energy? Potential Energy is the ability to change in an objects position. When an object has the ability to move it has potential...for example an object that is completely still has potential energy or any object that can fall.
How are Kinetic and Potential Energy related? Kinetic energy is when an object is in motion, Potential Energy is when an object has the ability to move.
What is The Law of Conservation of Energy and what does it mean? It is a property that states that energy can not be created or destroyed. Energy instead, is transformed into other forms of energy and transferred throughout other objects.
