QuestionAnswer
What is DNA? Determination of an organisims traits.
How many steps are there to replicating DNA? Four.
What is the first step to replicating DNA? Enzymes break the bonds of the double helix.
Second step to replicating DNA? Free floating nucleotide attach to the correct pair of strand. (Hydrogen bond to nucleotide)
Third step to replicating DNA? Phosphate groups fill in the gaps between the pairs to form the backbon of the double helix.
Last step to replicating DNA? It just continues until you have two distinct DNA molecules.
What does each molecule contain? One strand from the parent molecule.
What are the "letters" that bond? A, T, G and C
How do the "letters" bond? A with T and G with C.. ALWAYS !
What is the actual name for A? Adenine.
What is the actual name for T? Thymine.
What is the actual name for G? Guanine.
What is the actual name for C? Cytosine.
What is DNA? It's a polymer.
What is DNA made up of? Subunits called, Nucleus.
What letters have two hydrogen bond? A and T.
What letters have three hydrogen bonds? G and C.
