Reproduction The ability to produce new individuals, it ensures that a type of organism won’t become extinct.
Growth Growth is an increase of a living thing
Photosynthesis Biological chemical reaction that is involving light
Nucleus Controls all cell activities, contains DNA
Cell membrane Holds cell contents, allows substances to go in and out of the cell
Cell wall Gives structure to the cell
Cytoplasm Jelly like substance, cell parts are suspended in this liquid, Chemical reactions happen here
Mitochondria Produces energy, Known as the “powerhouse” Respiration happens here
Chloroplast Contains a green chemical called chlorophyll needed for photosynthesis. photosynthesis happens here
Vacuole Storage of food waste and water
Ribosome absorbs the protein in your food for growth and repair
Nosepiece Used to rotate the objective lenses into position
Fine focus knob Used to see the image more clearly at high magnification
Stage Used to hold the object for viewing
Objective lens Used to magnify the image
Eyepiece lens The lens you look through
Coarse focus knob Used to focus the image at low magnification and used to move the stage
