What is astronomy? The study of the moon, stars, and other objects in space.
What’s Earth’s axis? The imaginary line that passes through Earth’s center and the North and South poles.
What is rotation? Earth spinning on its axis is rotation.
What causes day and night? Earth’s rotation on its axis causes day and night.
How long does it take Earth to make one complete rotation? 24 hours or 1 full day
What is revolution? The movement of one object around another is called revolution.
How is revolution different from rotation? Rotation is like you spinning in around with your feet in the space location on the floor. Revolution is like you walking in a circle around your car.
How long does it take Earth to make one complete revolution? 365 days or 1 year
What is Earth’s orbit? An orbit is Earth’s path as it revolves around the sun.
Exactly, how many days equals a year? 365 ¼
What is a leap year? Every fourth year we have 366 days instead of 365 days.
