Light

| Luminous | objects that give off their own light (e.g. sun) |
| Non-luminous | objects that do not produce their own light but reflect light (e.g. moon) |
| Transparent | Allowing light to pass through |
| Translucent | Allows some light to pass through but can't be seen through clearly |
| Opaque | Does not let light through |
| Properties of light | Is a wave and travels in straight lines |
| Reflection | the bouncing back of a ray of light, sound, or heat when the ray hits a surface that it does not go through |
| Law of reflection | angle of incidence = angle of reflection |
| Refraction | When light changes direction as it passes from one medium to another (e.g. air to water) |
| Concave | Surface that curves inwards |
| Convex | Surface that curves outward |
