Force and Motion
| Term | Definition |

| Force | A push or pull that changes the speed or direction of an object. |
| Motion | The process of being moved from one place to another. |
| Gravity | Force that acts between any two masses. (Pulls Objects Down) |
| Friction | Occurs when two objects rub against each other, slowing their motion. |
| Matter | Composes any physical substance |
| Mass | Measure of the inertia of an object; Depends on the amount of matter the object contains |
| Combined Forces | Forces that act in the same direction; They are added together |
| Opposing Forces | Forces that act in opposite directions; They are subtracted |
| Resistance | Works against or slows motion. |
| Net Force | The total force acting on an object. |
| Balanced Force | Occurs when the net force is zero and there is no change in the object's motion. |
| Distance-Time Graph | Line graph used to show the speed of a moving object. |
| X-axis | The horizontal axis on a graph |
| Y-Axis | The vertical axis on a graph. |
