Parts and Functions

| Eyepiece | Allows you to view the image, contains the ocular lens. What you look through. |
| Objective lens | These are found on the nose-piece and range from low (4x) to high power(40x) |
| Stage Clips | These are used to hold a slide in place on the stage. |
| Arm | This part on the side of the microscope is used to support it when it is carried. |
| Course Adjustment Knob | This part moves the stage up and down to help you get the specimen into view. |
| Fine Adjustment Knob | This part moves the stage slightly to help you sharpen or "fine" tune your view of the specimen. |
| Revolving Nosepiece | Attached to objective lenses and rotates around, holds the lenses |
| Stage | Platform that holds the slide and the specimen |
| Base | The bottom part of the microscope, supports the microscope |
| Diapragm | Regulates the amount of light on a specimen, controls the amount of light. |
