Microscope

Parts and Functions

QuestionAnswer
Eyepiece Allows you to view the image, contains the ocular lens. What you look through.
Objective lens These are found on the nose-piece and range from low (4x) to high power(40x)
Stage Clips These are used to hold a slide in place on the stage.
Arm This part on the side of the microscope is used to support it when it is carried.
Course Adjustment Knob This part moves the stage up and down to help you get the specimen into view.
Fine Adjustment Knob This part moves the stage slightly to help you sharpen or "fine" tune your view of the specimen.
Revolving Nosepiece Attached to objective lenses and rotates around, holds the lenses
Stage Platform that holds the slide and the specimen
Base The bottom part of the microscope, supports the microscope
Diapragm Regulates the amount of light on a specimen, controls the amount of light.
