What is heredity? The passing on of physical traits from one generation to another.
How can you tell that two chromosomes are homologous? same genes, same size
What is a phenotype? The trait that is physically expressed
What is a genotype? What your DNA codes

What is the difference between dominant and recessive traits? Dominant is physically expressed and recessive is the trait that is hidden
What is the difference between homozygous and heterozygous? Homozygous is when the trait from both parents are the same. Heterozygous is when traits from each parent are different.

What is the base pairing rule for DNA? A- T C-G
Describe the relationship between DNA and proteins? DNA has the code, or instructions, for making protein.
What is the function of RNA? to create proteins via translation. RNA carries genetic information that is translated by ribosomes into various proteins

WHere are proteins made? Ribosomes
What are the building blocks of protein? Amino ACids
What is a mutation? any changes or mistake in the genes of an organism
What is the result of genetic engineering? removing genes from oe organizm and adding them to another

What is produced during cloning? producing gentically identical copies of an organism
How do we use the information from a DNA fingerprint? to compare people who may have committed a crime
