Adagio 66 - 76 Beats per min (a bit faster than largo)
Andante 76-108 Beats per min (Walking speed)
Allegro 120-168 Beats per min (Lively)
Vivace 168-180 Beats per min (Very lively) faster than Allegro
Presto 180-200 Beats per min (Really Fast)
Moderato 108-120 Beats per min (Moderate speed)
Largo 40-60 Beats per min (Broad and slow)
Larghetto 60-66 Beats per min (Broad not so slow as largo)
Rallentando or Rall. Slowing down
A tempo Back to original tempo
Ritendo Holding back the pace
Rubato Can be flexible with the speed of the music...
Staccato Play the notes shorter than written (Hot notes)
Legato Play the notes smoothly and joined up
Tenuto A straight line over the notes - play notes for full length or even slightly long
Articulation How the notes are played - how much to separate them.
Tempo How fast the notes are played.
Slur Notes played smoothly no breaks = no tonguing or played on one bow length
