Geographic Landforms

| Plateau | Land with steep sides and a flat top |
| Mountains | Steep rocky Land much higher than the land around it. |
| Valleys | Low area of land that lies between two higher areas of land such as mountains |
| Peninsula | Land that has water on only three sides |
| Lake | Water completely surrounded by land |
| River | A flowing or moving body of water |
| Ocean | The largest body of water on earth |
| Canyon | A low land area with steep sides and cliffs |
| Coast | Where the land meets the ocean |
| Plains | A long flat area of land |
| Desert | Hot, dry land that gets very little rain |
| Map Legend | Explains the meaning of symbols on a map |
| Map Grid | Shows the location of a place on a map |
| Map Scale | Measures distance on a map |
| Compass Rose | Shows direction on a map such as North, South, East and West. |
| Geographic Region | A group of one or more geographic landforms in an area with specific plants, animals and climate |
