5.4 Electricity

TermDefinition
Circuits are the pathways taken by an electric current.
Closed circuits are complete paths that allow the movement of electrical energy.
Open circuits prevent the movement of electrical energy.
Conductors are materials that allow electrical energy to move through them. examples include metal, copper, water, aluminum
Insulators are materials that do not conduct electricity well. examples include rubber, plastic, and wood
Electromagnets are objects that become magnetic when an electrical current passes through them.
Static electricity is electricity held or discharged by an insulated body. It is the transfer of negatively charged particles between materials.
