| red blood cell | -the part of the blood that carries oxygen to all parts of the body -have a concave shape and is able to squeeze through capillaries |
| skin | helps remove some wastes through perspiration |
| staying healthy includes | eating right, exercising, not smoking |
| valve | a small flap of tissue that prevents blood from flowing backward |
| veins | the blood vessels that carry blood from the body back to the heart |
| venae cavae | the largest vein in the body |
| ventricle | the lower chamber on either side of the heart |
| wastes | the body can be poisoned or die if these in the circulatory system are not removed |
| white blood cells | the part of the blood that helps the body fight diseases and infections |
