Blood Pressure

Normal Blood Pressure in an Adult 120/80 mm Hg
Normal Range for Systolic Pressure in an Adult 100 - 120 mm Hg
Normal Range for Diastolic Pressure in an Adult 60 - 80 mm Hg
Systolic Pressure pressure on the walls of the arteries when the ventricles of the heart are contracting & pushing blood into the arteries
Diastolic Pressure the constant pressure on the walls of the arteries when the ventricles of the heart are at rest.
Hypertension BP > 140/90 mm Hg
Hypotension BP < 90/60 mm Hg
Orthostatic Hypotension a sudden drop in blood pressure when a person moves from a lying to a sitting or standing position.
