Axis An imaginary line the extends through the earth's north pole and out the south pole; tilted and 23.5
rotation To spin on an axis
revolution movement in an elliptical path around a center
season cycle The cycle of the summer, fall winter and spring due to variation in intensity of the sun and length of the day cause by the tilt of the earth
Day/Night cycle The cycle of daytime and nighttime cause by the rotation of the earth about its axis
Equator An imaginary line drawn half way between the northern and southern poles; divides the northern and southern hemisphere
Hemisphere Half of a sphere; the earth is typically divided into the northern and southern hemispheres
