rotation to spin on axis
revolution Movement in an elliptical path around a center
season cycle the cycle of summer, summer, fall, winter, and spring due to variation in intensity of the sun and length of day caused by the tilt of the eaarth
day/night cycle the cycle of daytime and nighttime caused by the rotation of the earth about its axis
equator An imaginary line drawn halfway between the northern and southern poles; divides the northern and southern hemispheres
hemisphere Half of a sphere; the earth is typically divided into the northern and southern hemispheres
