| Goitrogen | Substances that disrupt the production of thyroid hormones. |
| Laryngospasm | A transient and reversible spasm of the vocal cords that temporarily make it difficult to speak or breathe. |
| Myxedema | Term used to denote sever hypothyroidism. Thick non-pitting edema. |
| Nodule | A small swelling or aggregation of cells in the body. |
| Parotiditis- | Causes the mouth to be dry and irritated. |
| Tetany | Intermittent muscle spasms. |
| Thyroiditis | Inflammation of the thyroid. |
| Thyrotoxicosis | Inappropriately high levels of circulating thyroid hormones in the body. |
