TermDefinition
Goitrogen Substances that disrupt the production of thyroid hormones.
Laryngospasm A transient and reversible spasm of the vocal cords that temporarily make it difficult to speak or breathe.
Myxedema Term used to denote sever hypothyroidism. Thick non-pitting edema.
Nodule A small swelling or aggregation of cells in the body.
Parotiditis- Causes the mouth to be dry and irritated.
Tetany Intermittent muscle spasms.
Thyroiditis Inflammation of the thyroid.
Thyrotoxicosis Inappropriately high levels of circulating thyroid hormones in the body.
