TermDefinition
Acromegaly Abnormal growth of the hands, feet, and face caused by overproduction of growth hormone by the pituitary gland.
Addison's disease Progressive anemia, low BP, weakness, and discoloration of the skin- caused by inadequate secretion of hormones by the adrenal cortex.
Cushing's disease Too much cortisol in the body.
Cushing syndrome Caused by excessive production or administration of glucocorticoid hormones.
Diabetes Insipidus Secretion of or response to the pituitary hormone vasopressin is impaired.
Gigantism Too much growth hormone, causing your bones to continue to grow.
Hypophysectomy Surgical removal of the pituitary gland.
STADH Water imbalance related to an increase in ADH synthesis, ADH secretion, or both.
