Adrenaline Increased rates of blood circulation, breathing, and carbohydrate metabolism and preparing muscle for exertion.
Androgens A male sex hormone.
Catecholamine Any of a class of aromatic amines that includes a number of neurotransmitters.
Chvostek sign Contraction of ipsilateral.
Endocrine glands Organ that makes hormones that are released directly into the blood and travel to tissues and organs all over the body.
Estrogens Groups of steroid hormones which promote the development and maintenance of female characteristics of the body.
Glucocorticoids Any of a group of corticosteroids, which are involved in the metabolism of carbs, proteins, and fats.
Mineralocorticoids A corticosteroid that is involved with maintaining the salt balance in the body.
Trousseau's signs Involuntary contractures of the muscles in the hands and wrist.
