Matter

| Matter | Anything that has mass and takes up space |
| Physical Property | How something look, feels, sounds, smells, or tastes |
| Mass | The amount of matter in an object or substance |
| Magnetism | A force that pulls magnetic materials across a distance |
| More Dense (Sink) | To move downward below the surface |
| Less Dense (Float) | To rest on the surface of a liquid |
| Relative Density | It determines whether one substance will sink or float in another substance |
| Volume | The amount of space something takes up |
| Solubility | The ability of a substance to dissolve in another substance |
| Solid | a state of matter in which the substance has a definite shape and a definite volume |
| Liquid | a state of matter in which the substance has a definite volume but takes the shape of the container |
| Gas | a state of matter in which the substance takes both the shape and the volume of its container |
| Evaporation | the process of changing from liquid to gas |
| Condensation | the process of changing from a gas to a liquid |
| Boiling point | the temperature at which a substance changes from a liquid to a gas |
| Melting point | the temperature at which a substance changes from a solid to a liquid |
| Freezing point | the temperature at which a substance from a liquid to a solid |
| Chemical change | a change that produces a new substance |
| Physical change | a change from one form to another form without turning into a new substance |
