Dense Having parts very close together with little space between
Relative Density It determines whether one substance will sink or float in another substance
More Dense Will sink
Less Dense Will float
solubility The ability of a substance to dissolve in another substance
soluble Able to be dissolved.
insoluble Impossible to dissolve.
conductor a thing that conducts electric current or thermal energy
conductivity the capacity for or property of conducting of transmitting heat, electricity, or sound.
conduct To allow an energy to pass through
dissolve to mix completely with liquid.
electric energy energy that comes from an electric current
electricity energy caused by the movement of electrons through matter.
insulate to stop the flow of energy passing through
insulator a thing that insulates (stops) electric current or thermal energy
insulation the act of insulating (stopping) the flow of energy
magnetism the power of a magnet to attract.
mass The amount of matter in an object or substance
matter all substances that contain atoms and take up space.
physical property How something looks, feels, sounds, smells, or tastes
