temperature a measure of how hot or cold something is
climate the long-term weather pattern of a place
climate zone an area that has similar average temperatures and precipitation throughout the year
equator the imaginary line that divides Earth into its northern and southern halves
latitude the measure of how far north or south a place is from the equator
