What is a palentologist? A Paleontologist is someone who studies fossils!
What is a fossil? Fossils are the remains of plants and animals that lived long ago.
What is an organism? An individual animal, plant, or single-celled life form
What is a mold? A fossil formed when an animal, plant, or other organism dies and is covered by sediment.
What is a cast? A fossil formed when an animal, plant, or other organism dies, its flesh decays and bones deteriorate due to chemical reactions, minerals gradually enter into the cavity, resulting in a cast.
What is a preserved/true form fossil? Remains of a prehistoric organism that remains intact
What is petrification? When the original organic tissues are replaced with minerals from the surrounding rock.
What is resim/amber? A hard, translucent, brownish-yellow substance that is the fossilized resin (similar to a thick sap) of ancient trees.
True or False: a mold is an imprint. True
True or False: Resin/amber contains candy. False. It contains fossil insects.
