Why study surface h20? Because it affects populations
Floodplain An area of flat land adjacent to a stream that expected to flood.
Stage of Stream Height of water above the stream bed.
Stream Type: Braided Steams that intertwine/braid with each other
Stream Type: Straight A stream that goes relatively straight and does not intertwine with other streams
Stream Type: Meandering A very curving and twisting stream, that does not intertwine with other streams.
