EDUC 322 Chapter 2 Notes (Pt. 2)

Teacher Rating of Oral Language and Literacy (TROLL) allows teachers to simultaneously assess children's expressive (spoken) oral language along with their early reading and writing development
IGDIs: Picture Naming Test assessment of children's expressive (spoken) oral language through the use of picture cards
Oral Language Acquisition Inventory-2 (OLAI-2) assesses children's acquisition of oral language structures and components (helps identify stages of linguistic development for instruction)
Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) the average number of words spoken in a statement MLA = Age (ex. 4 words = 4 yrs old)
Test of Language Development (TOLD) for screening, diagnostic, and outcome assessment purposes Measures: picture vocabulary, relational vocabulary, oral vocabulary, syntactic understanding, sentence imitation, morphological completion, word discrimination, word analysis, word articulation
