pyroclastic material The volcanic rock ejected during an erection, including ash bombs in blocks

composite volcano a volcano composed of both lava and pyroclastic material
vent an opening in the surface of earth through which molten rock and gases are released

contour interval an a topographic tells the distance in elevation between adjacent contour lines
caldera a large depression typically caused by collapse or ejection of the summit area of a volcano
hot spot a concentration of heat in the mantle capable of producing magma, which rises to the earths surface
