adaptation the action or process of adapting or being adapted
camouflage a defense or tactic that organisms use to disguise their appearance, usually to blend in with their surroundings
mimicry adaptation in which one species looks like another species
variation a slight difference in an inherited trait of individual members of a species

artificial selection the process of breeding plants or animals for their desirable traits by an outside source
evolution the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form
