| Altitude | the height of a triangle that makes a 90 degree angle |
| Arc | Part of the circumference made by a wedge of a circle |
| Circumference | The distance around a circle. Given by c=2pir |
| Coefficient | The number in front of a variable |
| Congruent | Equal to |
| Consecutive | One after the other like 3,4,5 |
| Diagonal | the line between non-consecutive corners in a polygon |
| Diameter | The distance across a circle through the center |
| Difference | the result when you subtract numbers |
| Equilateral | All sides are equal |
| Hexagon | sixed sided shape |
| Inequalities | any expression that includes: <,> |
| Integer | Any real numbers that doesn't have fraction or decimals including 0 and all negative "whole numbers" |
| Isosceles | A triangle with at least 2 sides and 2 congruent angles |
| Maximum | The highest y-value of a graph |
| Median | The middle number when the numbers are in order |
| Midpoint | The point exactly halfway between two other points |
| Minimum | The lowest y-value of a graph |
| Mode | The most frequently listed number |
| Obtuse | Angle greater than 90 degrees |
| Origin | the point (0,0), usually marked with O |
| Parabola | A U-shaped graph that has an equation with an x2 |
| Parallel | Lines that don't intersect because they have the same slope |
| Pentagon | A five-sided polygon |
| Perimeter | The distance around the outside of a shape |
| Perpendicular | Lines that make 90 degree angles when they meet |
| Polygon | A shape |
| Product | The result when you multiply numbers |
| Quadrilateral | A four-sided polygon |
| Quotient | The result when you divide numbers |
| Radius | The distance from any point on the circle to the center |
| Real numbers | Every number that doesn't have an "i" in it. |

| Remainder | The amount left over when you divide |
| Rhombus | A quadrilateral with equal sides |

| Symmetric | The same on one side as it is on the other side |
| Translation | To move a line segment or entire graph horizontally or vertically |
| Vertex | A corner of a shape |
| Adjacent | Means next to |
| Arithmetic Sequence | Each term comes from adding a fixed number to each term |
| Binomial | A polynomial with 2 terms |
| Bisect | Cuts into 2 equal segments or angles |
| Chord | Joins any 2 points on a circle |
| Complex numbers | Numbers made up of real and imaginary numbers |

| Directly Proportional | y=kx, where k is a constant |
| Domain | All possible x- values of a graph |

| Equivalent to | Just simplify or evaluate the given equation |

| Exterior angle | The angle formed by extending one of the sides of a polygon |
| Function | equation that starts with f(x) |
| Geometric Sequence | Each term comes from multiplying the previous term by a fixed number |
| Hypotenuse | Longest side of a right triangle |
| Imaginary numbers | Number that includes "i", Square roots of negative numbers |
| Interior angle | The angles on the inside of a polygon |
| Period | The distance a wave travels before it repeats its pattern |
| Polynomial | Has terms with x, x2, x3 |
| Prime | A number that has exactly 2 factors |
| Probability | A fraction with number of successful ways on the top and total on the bottom |
