Electricity Heat

QuestionAnswer
Circuit A simple circuit consists of an energy source, wires, and a load. In the case of a simple circuit in the text, battery is the energy.
Switch Switches are optional components of circuits.
Conductor Material that allows electricity to move through them easily are metals such as: Aluminum, cooper, iron, steel.
Insulator Materials that don't easily permit the flow of electricity are: glass, rubber, wood, cotton, paper, plastic.
Closed Circuit Circuits must be closed, which requires a complete loop and a minimum of two wires.
Opened Circuit Open circuits break the flow of energy.
Conduction Heat can be transferred through conduction which is contact.
Convection Heat can be transferred through convection (heat rises and expands, cooler, sinks, and contracts).
Radiation Heat can be transferred by the sun's radiation (rays).
Heat Heat is a transfer of energy but temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of a substance.
