Moon A rocky sphere that travels around a planet .
Sun The star that is the main source of light at the center of our solar system .
Scale The relative size of things .
Illuminate Th shine light on an object and make it visible .
Moon phase The shape illuminated part of the moon as it appears from earth .
Pattern Something we observe to be similar over and over again .
Orbit The nearly circular path a smaller (like the moon) travels around a larger object (like earth ).
Model An object,diagram,or computer program that helps us understand something by making it simpler or easier to see.
Waning Decrease in size ,extent, or degree.
Waxing The period of getting bigger .
Gibbous Swelling
Terminator The dividing line between the light and the dark part of a planetary body.
