A&P The senses (eyes)

| Cornea | Outer transparent part of the eye that first focuses light |
| Sclera | The whites of the eye |
| Optic nerve | Exits at optic disk & transmits information from the eye to occipital lobe of the brain |
| Choroid | Contains blood vessels |
| Ciliary body | Holds lens in place |
| Lens | Disc inside the eye that flattens to see far & curves to see up close |
| Iris | Colored portion of the eye |
| Pupil | Opening for light to enter |
| Aqueous humor | Liquid surrounding the lens, found between the cornea & lens |
| Retina | Contains visual receptor cells |
| Rods | Black & White |
| Cones | Color |
| Fovea centralis | Region of the sharpest vision, also called the macula, superior to the optic disk |
| Optic disc | Where nerve fibers leave the eye, creating the blind spot |
| Vitreous Humor | Supports internal parts, fluid within the eye |
| How do we see? | light enter through the cornea, lens focuses the light into the retina, then optic nerve transmit visual info. to the brain. |
