A&P The senses (eyes)

Cornea Outer transparent part of the eye that first focuses light
Sclera The whites of the eye
Optic nerve Exits at optic disk & transmits information from the eye to occipital lobe of the brain
Choroid Contains blood vessels
Ciliary body Holds lens in place
Lens Disc inside the eye that flattens to see far & curves to see up close
Iris Colored portion of the eye
Pupil Opening for light to enter
Aqueous humor Liquid surrounding the lens, found between the cornea & lens
Retina Contains visual receptor cells
Rods Black & White
Cones Color
Fovea centralis Region of the sharpest vision, also called the macula, superior to the optic disk
Optic disc Where nerve fibers leave the eye, creating the blind spot
Vitreous Humor Supports internal parts, fluid within the eye
How do we see? light enter through the cornea, lens focuses the light into the retina, then optic nerve transmit visual info. to the brain.
