Weather tools/clouds

TermDefinition
Cumulus Puffy with flat and rounds tops that signal fair weather.
Cirrus Wispy, feathery clouds made of icy crystals that from at high levels.
Stratus Clouds that from in flat layers and often cover much of the sky.
Nimbus A rain cloud.
Fog A status clouds that forms when air is cooled to its dew point near the ground.
Anemetor An instrument used to measure wind speed.
Wind Vane Instrument used to measure wind direction.
Thermometer An instrument used to measure temperature.
Sling Psychometer Tool made of a wet and dry thermometer that measures relative humidty and requires a table to intrpret the two temperatures.
Barometoer An instrument that measures atmospheric pressure.
Rain gauge An instrument used to measure preciptation.
Weather map A map that uses symbols to show weather data.
Weather satelites Type of satelight that is primaly used to monitor the weather and climate change of the Earth.
Weather radar Is an instrument that sends pulses of electromagnit energy intot he atmosphere to find preciptation , to determine its motion and intensity, identify the preciptation type such as rain, snow, and hail.
Isobar Line on a map connecting points having the same baromic reading at a given time.
Isotherm A line on a map that joins places that have the same temps.
cummolonimbus Are thunderstorm clouds.High winds can flatten the top. Rain, snow, hail, and sleet.
