Cycles and Patterns of Our Solar System

Axis Imaginary line which Earth roates on once every 24 hours
Rotation Spinning of an object on its axis
Revolution The movement of an object around another object
Orbit The path an object takes as it moves around another object in space
Cycle A series of events that repeat in a pattern
Day Caused by Earth's rotation on its axis (24 hours)
Year Caused by Earth revolving around the sun one time (approx. 365 days)
Season Caused by Earth's tilt on its axis as the Earth revolves around the sun
